About

Welcome to the Croft Bowling Association Website.

Croft Bowling Association’s community facility is located in picturesque surroundings on Smithy Lane at the edge of Croft Village on a site transformed from wasteland a little over twenty years ago.

Each week over 150 members enjoy the relaxed atmosphere that the  facility provides, and a warm and friendly welcome is guaranteed for anyone wishing to join the club either as a player or simply as a social member.

The  Association’s inception was driven by Croft’s local farmer Alan Sharpe who had tirelessly contributed both time and funding to many of the village’s community projects over a number of years. He felt that the village would benefit greatly if it could transform the under-used open land on Smithy Lane into a worthwhile community facility.

1995 saw the birth of Croft Bowling Association under Alan Sharpe’s direction and the wonderful community facility that so many people have enjoyed since then is his legacy and a constant reminder of his vision for Croft Village.

The Association offers both social and team bowling in a friendly atmosphere with male and female teams competing in the Warrington and Newton and District bowling leagues. The Association also offers a range of social activities throughout the year to its members, many of whom are drawn from the wider community as well as Croft Village itself.

The Association is totally managed by volunteers who give their time freely either as committee members involved with such things as fund raising activities or as members of the maintenance team looking after all aspects of the Association’s property.  The photographs speak for themselves, so if you would like to find out more then please click on the links to discover what we have to offer.
