Lancashire v Greater Manchester County Match 2024

The Association is pleased to announce that the green has been chosen to host the county match between Lancashire and Greater Manchester on Sunday June 2nd. The match commences at 2pm following 30 minutes practice for each team and should be completed by about 5pm. Refreshments will be available to purchase throughout the day including tea, coffee, sandwiches, bacon rolls, beef burgers and cakes. Existing seating will be available on a first come first served basis so you may want to consider bringing your own chairs to ensure that you can watch in comfort throughout the day. We hope that as many members as possible come along on the day to support the occasion and we will provide further information including team news as we get closer to the match.

Lancashire Senior Merit Final 2022

The Association is pleased to announce that the green has once again been chosen to host the Lancashire Senior Merit Final in 2022. The date for the final is Sunday May 15th.

Play will commence at 10:30am and there will be plenty of free parking available close to the green. Refreshments will be available to purchase throughout the day including tea, coffee, sandwiches, bacon rolls, beef burgers and cakes. Existing seating will be available on a first come first served basis so you may want to consider bringing your own chairs to ensure that you can watch in comfort throughout the day.

The Lancashire Senior Merit is the Lancashire County Blue Riband Event. It has been played for annually since 1898 except for a short period during the Second World War between 1940-45.

The winner, runner-up and losing semi-finalists will be invited to play in the All-Britain Senior Merit competition.

The winner will also qualify for the end of season Champion of Champions event which will be held at the Waterloo Hotel at Blackpool.

Volunteers are required to assist with this prestigious event so please contact any of the committee members if you feel you can help in any way. Thanks.

Lancashire Senior Merit Final 2021

Following our successful day in 2019 we are pleased to announce that Croft Bowling Association will again be hosting the Lancashire Senior Merit Final with the event taking place this year on Sunday 27th June. Admission is free so please come along and watch some of the region’s best bowlers in action and help make the day a success.
